Angola: Mission Impossible

This is going to be a quick entry, I mean a blog entry, because getting into the country, mission impossible.

From Namibia we had to go to Lubango in southern Angola. Unable to get a visa at the embassy in Windhoek, we decided to try the consulate in Oshakati at the border, which seemed easier (ha!).

!! What efficiency the Angolan consul had, what activity, it was exhausting to see him not stopping. What a nice guy he was! ..... I rather liked him...(him and the mother who bore him...) .

It was not easy to "convince" him to order the official to attend to us, as the poor, stressed-out man could not cope with so much work:

Only 18 hours later, we managed to get a space, despite the crowded waiting room...

Jorge's patience and a "tip" to the official (so she could go to the hairdresser's) did the rest to speed up the process even more. The poor consul will continue to tire of the overexertion.

Two days later we got the visa, although for me it was too late.

The rest of what I can tell you about Angola would be a wikipedia cut-and-paste, so we'll leave it for another occasion, which there will be...
