Tucked away in the heart of the Sahara, in the land of tubus, lies the most spectacular area of the desert. It is difficult to get there, you have to cross a vast sea of dunes, the Djourab's big ergbut the rewards are enormous: forests of stone spires towering over the dunes, enormous gueltas that lead into deep canyons, labyrinths of eroded rock, colourful lagoons, acacia forests, nomadic camps of tubus, tedas, dazas and zagawa.
Getting lost in the Oyo labyrinthto enter the majestic Guelta d'Archeiwhere the last crocodiles of the desert live, cool off in the Ounianga Lakes, World Heritage for its great beauty thanks to the variety of shapes, sizes and colours, or camping among the Wadi Aroué duneswill make this trip unique.
From Ndjamena We will fly over the great Erg of Djourab, in an unrepeatable flight that will take us up to Faya Largeauthe capital of the Chadian Sahara; a miracle of nature in the heart of the Sahara. Borkou desertWhat better experience than camping among the dunes and, after the Maghreb, the sunset prayer, playing with the camel drivers at the Fos and sitting by the fire to have dinner and talk about life or old djinns' stories? After leaving the Ounianga Lakes and cross the Mourdi depression and the Bir Kora tank cemetery (ghostly memories of Libya's defeat), you reach Fada, the heart of the Ennedi massif, home to the tribes bideyat, zagawa and mourdias. During the journey, we will pass through caves with abundant rock art, large canyons, gullies such as the Archei and numerous unusual sandstone rock formations that rise out of the desert like gigantic sculptures, such as the Aloba loops, the Bishekele arch and the Materela mountain range.
The entire landscape of the Ennedi is spectacular but, above all, we will keep an indelible memory of the multi-coloured Ounianga Lakes and of the fantastic adventure conquered.
