25 Aug Tanzania. This adventure is over for the time being
Well, as the title says, this adventure ends.
I've hardly slept all this time, only standing up and in the truck, I've cracked a rib, I've got bruises and cuts all over my body, shit to bore, I haven't done any sport for two months, etc etc, but what a laugh I've had....
Yesterday I left my last group at Kilimanjaro airport. Another bunch of new friends I have left on my way to Zanzibar, while I started the journey back home.
The last day, after leaving Ngorongoro, we took a bike ride to Lake Manyara. Thank goodness that in Africa they don't force you to wear that cycling helmet, nor the tacky tights, which have damaged the image of humanity so much, because if not, I know of someone who doesn't visit the lake.
And after that, we oiled up to our paws, to say goodbye to Africa properly.
That night was the best, one of the best...
Another memorable night, a group slept with me on the roof of the truck, to be able to contemplate an incredible starry sky, and also to see the hyenas that used to come close to our camp.
Like this hyena, whose photo I took very close to our camp in Ngiri, who despite having eaten wildebeest in the morning, (a Mac Meñu according to Oriol), came to our camp to see what our cook Benson had prepared.
I can't forget one of the highlights of this trip, when in the Serengeti, I put all the people on the roof of the truck to see how the sun was hiding behind an acacia tree at sunset, just this little moment was worth all the effort.
Because it has been a lot of effort, a lot of hours in the truck, a lot of potholes, a lot of dust, and above all, a lot of water, because in this last group, it has rained non-stop.
and when it rains in Africa, it rains with fury, like the day I took people to see the kissi market, famous for its colour and bustle, as you can see in this photo.
As you can see, I'm a romantic, Africa makes me like this, thank goodness this can be cured by going on a Friday night out at El Lateral, with those horny-eyed people I have for friends.
So I will take advantage of the fact that I still have the sensitive vein to show you some pictures of the landscapes that I like so much, and that I will miss so much.
And, as always, surrounded by very good company.
It's not an easy job being a guide, all day long being the Alpha Male.
Anyway, I'm still on the plane back home, and I'm starting to miss everything.
I do not forget anyone or anything of what I have lived in this great adventure, I will always remember those long hours in the truck, those parties in the Rhino lodge, or in Marera, Migunga, KSTC of Serengeti, lake Naivahsa, etc, those starry nights from my chill out or from the roof of the truck, to all of you I thank you for all the good moments spent together, and for having made my job the easiest and most beautiful in the world and I have had an even better time than you.
And with this I say goodbye, but it's only a goodbye in my blog, because very soon TOMBUCTU awaits me, but that's already part of another chapter.
